The remedies are made up from various substances found throughout the plant, animal and mineral kingdoms. 
Only the tiniest doses of the remedy are used in order to initiate the healing process, and a single remedy is given at any one time.

Due to the highly diluted nature of the remedies, homeopathy does not produce side effects.  It is also impossible to become addicted to them.The remedy works with the body's immune system, stimulating it's own natural healing power to cure disease.
 
Homeopathic remedies treat the patient gently and with reverence.  Because the remedies stimulate the body's own healing ability, there may sometimes be a slight intensification of symptoms for a short while, while this process begins to work. 

Conditions that have been suppressed, i.e. buried symptoms, may work their way outwards again as part of the healing process.  These symptoms are always temporary and leave the body healthier and stronger.
